Research groups & networks

Global Land Project - an international research network that endorses my research.

Rural Ecology Research Group (RERG) - our research group at the School of Forestry, University of Canterbury.

ARC-NZ Network for Vegetation Function - I'm participating in one of their working groups.

Resilience Alliance - a network of researchers interested in resilience and sustainability science.

PLoS - The Public Library of Science. A non-profit organisation that publishes several open-access journals.

Some open-source software that I use for work

The R project - a statistical / programming environment based on the S language.

Ubuntu - the most popular distribution of the GNU/Linux operating system. A highly recommended alternative to MS Windows.

JGR - a very nice graphical user interface (GUI) for R. Works on Mac and Linux.

OpenOffice - really makes you wonder why people still use MS Office.

zotero - a reference manager software with word processor integration. Best open-source alternative to Endnote.

Statistical resources

Pierre Legendre - lots of useful programs and R functions on his website.

Marti J. Anderson - her FORTRAN programs are well-designed and very useful.
